Nubra Valley, located about 3,000 meters above sea level in northern Ladakh, is a high-altitude desert known for its surreal landscapes, sand dunes, and double-humped Bactrian camels. It lies beyond Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. The valley is fed by the Shyok and Nubra rivers and is home to picturesque villages, orchards, and ancient monasteries like Diskit and Samstanling. Popular spots include Hunder, Turtuk (near the Pakistan border), and Panamik, known for its hot springs. Nubra offers a unique blend of mountains, desert, and cultural richness, making it a must-visit in Ladakh.
